Question by kurtster: How to remotely control a remote control over the Internet?
I recently installed a webcam in one room of my house to check on my cats when traveling, which works great except when its dark. It just so happens that the ceiling light in that room has an on/off remote control. Since I have a wireless LAN network in the house, I’m wondering if there’s any device available that would allow me to remotely control that remote control to turn it on/off in order to illuminate the room.

Brits are obsessed by the weather, so its not surprising that sunshine was rated as the top thing we couldnt live without, says Sarah Richardson, the Exhibition Manager at the London Science Museum. But to say you cant live without material things over drinking water is crazy.

Thats a sad state of affairs when there are so many million people who dont have access to even the simplest facilities in order to survive.

Charity: Water Log reported that an estimated 2.5 billion people currently survive without toilets. The effects of unsanitary living are devastating; the majority of the worlds diseases are caused by faecal matter. One gram of faeces alone can have 10 million different viruses, one million bacteria, 1,000 parasite cysts and 100 parasite eggs. Can you imagine all of this sitting in your back garden everyday? Thats the reality for millions in the developing world.

Microsoft Vista’s sales projections
