The K3 power generator is the latest release from Kinesis Industries and is a revision on their K2. The latest model now supports new power sources.

In addition to alternative power sources such as wind energy and solar energy which are captured by it’s mini windmill and solar cells respectively, this gadget now also supports grid electricity through any conventional AC plug.

Other new charge options included are USB charging and charging by means of a car cigarette lighter.

The new feature may not be the most green of options, but it does give you additional charge option should you be in a pinch. A fully charged K3 will sufficiently power a cell phone five times and an MP3 player more then 10 times.

Kinesis is targeting this new gadget more as an emergency power generator to provide quick power in a time of need. The official release of K3 will be in June when it will retail for $99.95.

The Belkin Micro Auto Charger is a cool gadget that converts the standard cigarette lighter socket into a mobile USB port.

Unless you’re a heavy smoker that must have a car lighter, many lighters go unused and untouched. With the number of high tech toys out there that are ever in need of power, why not convert this unused socket into something useful.

This car charger is as simple as it gets. Plug it in and you’ll have access to a single USB port. The adapter also includes a glowing light which probably would assist in finding the port while driving at night.

Man, iHarmonix has been squeezing all the life they can out of the RockBand franchise. After a recent announcement of the Beatles version, the company is now teaming with MTV, Warner Brothers Interactive, to create Lego Rock Band.

That’s right, someone wants to make version of Rock Band with Legos. All I have to say to that is: why not? I mean, Rock Band already allows you select characters to be the drummer, singer, and guitarist, so why not build them from a Lego minifig model? I have heard that players will play at “local venues, stadiums, and other fantasy locations”, but I say that players should be allowed to build their own stadiums from Lego bricks.

Another contributing company to this game is TT Games, who have created a lot of successful Lego games based on franchises such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Batman.

Those games were designed for a younger audience, and it would appear that this Lego Rock Band is for the younger crowd as well. Some of the songs on the playlist include tunes like “Song 2” by Blur, “The Final Countdown” by Europe, and “Kung Fu Fighting” by Carl Douglas. I’m guessing the rest are “family friendly” tunes so that the game will receive an E rating rather that RockBand’s usual T.

Lego Rock Band is due to arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo DS sometime before the holiday season. I really hope they make a Wii version.

Speakers are typically made out of unattractive plastic.  It’s rarely anything special and they’re more meant to blend in than to stand out.   Of course that’s fine, because not every gadget you own needs to become a focal point. Although, these Japanese speakers aren’t meant to just stand aside in your home not to catch a second glance from any guests you might have.  Even if you get the version without LED lights, the clear glass would be eye catching enough all on its own.

There are two different types of these speakers, there’s the type without lighting and then if you pay a little extra you can get one with white and blue LED lights.  Of course no gadget would be complete without the option to make them glow.  Especially blue, for some reason it seems like every gadget connected to my computer (including the computer), is capable of shining in bright blue.  These SP0001 speakers only have 10W per speaker, so you might not be thrilled about the 100,000 Yen price tag that converts into about $1,000.  So far though these are only sold in Japan anyway.

Paris Hilton masters the art of hogging the limelight for her extravagant lifestyle. In absolutely no danger of being bogged down with the global recession, the rich Hilton heiress has ordered a $400,000 diamond-encrusted dashboard to add a little more sparkle to her pink Bentley.

The Sun reports, the hotel heiress, 27, will have it flown out from the firm’s British HQ in Crewe to be fitted to her Continental GT in Los Angeles. Paris got one of her guys to phone Bentley in Crewe, to explore the possibility. And a source at Bentley said, “When the man said she wanted to stud the dashboard with a couple of hundred grand’s worth of diamonds, we were stunned. We’re used to dealing with the stars so we expect the odd extravagance, but this is something else.” The Barbie-inspired ride has been customized in pink with upholstery, grille and hubcaps also in pink. She had it sprayed pink and has got her initials almost everywhere, on the blinged Bentley badge, rims and even on the seat. Love her or hate her, she sure knows how to create the buzz.

It’s been a while since Sharp blew our minds with a really cool Netbook and today they just did that. Behold the Sharp Mebius NJ70A, your average 10.1″ Netbook with an Atom N270 CPU, an Intel 945GSE Express Chipset, 160GB of HDD, a Web cam and a mind blowing 4″optical sensor LCD with Led backlight and an awesome 854×480 resolution.

While this Netbook is just plain standard, the optical sensor LCD is really impressive and lets you use either a finger or stylus to write memos and emails with handwriting recognition, or play piano, zoom out and in on document like you do with an iphone, and so on!

So far I have no idea yet on this awesome Netbooks price, but you will have to wait another month before seeing this cool baby in stores in Japan.

A Hummer H3 modded by Utah’s Raser technology has significantly trumped the Prius in green credentials and performance. The earth-friendly machine can manage an incredible 100+ mpg, about double that of the puny 51 mpg attributed to the Prius. On top of that, it can also manage 0 to 60 in 8.5 seconds; Toyota is aiming for sub-10 seconds with their next generation model.

So what’s under the hood. The power-plant that works the magic is a 260-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoTech engine. On top of that, there is a 100-kilowatt generator that is used to recharge the 600-pound battery bank. What’s more it is a plug-in hybrid and will manage a 40-mile trip on electricity alone.

No word yet on price, but we are talking aftermarket modifications to a Hummer, so it is pretty obvious that while the Raser Hummer H3 might totally kick Prius ass on performance and fuel economy, it is probably going to cost many times more than Toyota’s hybrid.

Remember those fun color-it-yourself books from your childhood? Sometimes they were color-by-number and other times, well, they invited you to simply pick your own color scheme (which some of us did with color-by-number books regardless). Taking this simple idea to a new level, one designer has come up with an idea to let people color their own dresses and other apparel.

Her dress design ideas, however, do not end with just color - Berber Soepboer has also created a series of dresses that are designed to change color and pattern by snapping and unsnapping selective buttons and recombining layers in various ways.

More than merely these (albeit creative and appealing) designs themselves, this design approach signals new ways of thinking about what we wear - they provide a new perspective on the possibilities of transforming, multipurpose and create-your-own textiles.

Enough of Bugatti Veyron editions? This time, it’s a Lambo in the news. British tuner Prindiville Prestige is offering the most expensive, special edition Lamborghini since the launch of the €1 million Reventon. Prindiville is renowned for creating one-off, custom-made cars and this completely restyled Murcielago LP-640 is one great example. The roadster has been redesigned from the ground up and the interior modifications alone were done for €330,000.

These modifications include saddle-tanned leather, hand-finished aluminum accents and specially engineered aluminum air vents. The car has been upholstered in buffalo foreskins. Carbon fiber work is all the rage these days, so they did the whole outer bodywork in carbon fiber, excluding the front compartment lid. Valances, sills and louvers have been used for a shark-like appearance. Other notable upgrades include a titanium sports exhaust system, handleless doors with remote electric opening, miniature cameras in the door mirrors and a restyled engine bay cover.

The total cost for the bespoke special edition carbon fiber Lamborghini goes over $1 million. The Lamborghini Murciélago by Prindiville is daringly designed, stylishly aggressive and one of a kind.
