Question by Jantonio: What’s a good gift for an automotive technician?
My brother is going to school to become an Auto Tech. I want to get him a gadget or something techie he can use in his studies, and have some fun with. I was looking into those diagnostic code scanners. Is there anything else you guys things would be more useful?? Thanks!!
I would like to re-emphasize that I would like it to be a techie gift.

Anything from Snap On, from some wrenches or multi tool, to even a cap or work shirt. I would stay away from the code scanners, unless you have $ 4k to spend on a Soleus scanner, which is the industry standard.

A good pair of work boots that are oil resistant and padded. We spend 6 to 8 hours a day on our feet and at times are lifting and carrying heavy items. Good boots will help save his feet, knees, ankles and back. I’ve been doing it for years and they really help. Try Red Wing or Snap On has work boots too. He and his body will thank you.
